CALGARY — Calgary-based Crowfoot Travel Agency has announced new owners at its helm.
Long-time owner Ken Stewart has passed the reins to new owners Kim Paterson and Karina Fong after 25 years of dedicated service. Stewart founded the agency in 1999.
According to Stewart, as travel advisors age, more owners are looking to slow down or retire and sell their agencies. When an owner’s children are uninterested in taking over, finding the right new owners can be challenging. For Stewart, securing the ideal successors was paramount.
“I’ve known Karina for a long time and was impressed by both her and Kim’s dedication to the industry. When they approached me about starting their own venture, I realized they were the perfect fit to carry Crowfoot Travel forward,” said Stewart.
Starting their own agency had always been in the back of Paterson and Fong’s minds, but they wanted to truly understand what that journey would entail before jumping in.
“Ken built an agency known for trust, integrity and expertise, and when the opportunity arose to step into ownership, we knew this was the right next step for us,” said Fong. “Crowfoot Travel has always been about exceptional service and strong industry partnerships. We’re excited to honour that legacy while introducing new efficiencies, strengthening advisor support, and ensuring travellers continue to receive the best possible experiences.”
