TORONTO — Visit Utah is inviting travel agents to lace up their walking shoes for a virtual walk around the state.
Using the Visit Utah Walker Tracker app, the map-based challenge launches Oct. 15, giving participants the chance to learn about Utah’s bounty of attractions in a fun and interactive way. As travel agents reach certain targets and goals in their step challenge, they will not only be able to see how far they’ve walked but also learn about Utah’s renowned National and State Parks, as well as key destinations and events.
Though not considered a race, the completion challenge will be held over 12 weeks to see which user can walk the furthest. Participants will be encouraged to reach goals each week, and challenges will be set for them to reach certain spots in a certain time frame.
Each person who completes the challenge, whether as a single walker or as part of a team, will be entered into a draw to win a trip to Utah in 2021, once international travel reopens. Four lucky walkers will be chosen to win the trip, courtesy of the Utah Office of Tourism and Air Canada. The prize includes a minimum six nights’ accommodation, some meals, activities, attractions and transportation. Prize package is non-transferrable, non-exchangeable and has no cash value.
The registration period runs from Oct. 1-15 and is free for agents. Participants must complete their walk around Utah, using their own steps as the metric, between Oct. 15 and Dec. 18. Agents can create teams of two, three or four, or walk individually.
