TORONTO – Last night in Toronto two of the ‘coolest’ travel brands in Toronto travel – PropelTO and Drake Hotel Properties – joined forces for a stylish event held at The Drake Hotel.
This marks the second official event for PropelTO following its successful launch at Toronto Island Marina & Yacht Club in August. Billed as a networking group and born from the former Young Travel Professionals (YTP), PropelTO aims to bring travel industry professionals of all ages together to network, engage in roundtable discussions and learn from industry-leading speakers.
“We are very pleased with the turnout and the support we’ve received from across the industry,” said Devin Kinasz, PropelTO board member and Publisher of Travelweek. “Demand for our events has nearly doubled in such a short amount of time, with RSVPs for The Drake event reaching 150 people. I can tell by speaking with our members tonight that everyone is impressed and very happy to be here!”
On showcase last night were all the services and event spaces available at Drake Hotel Properties. According to the company, Drake Hotel Properties is “not just an arts-infatuated hospitality brand”, that it’s “more than a place to eat, drink and sleep and shop”. Rather, each unique property is “filled with personality and buzzing with energy.” The company’s portfolio includes The Drake Hotel, Drake Devonshire Inn, and Drake Motor Inn.
“We were thrilled to have PropelTO join us for their second event to network, mingle and check out all The Drake has to offer. It was a very exciting night, with booths set up throughout our flagship property showcasing the unique offerings of each of our locations, including spectacular special events for groups of all sizes, unforgettable retreats, delicious food and drink, and more!” says Dave Elliott, Sr. Manager, Corporate Sales and Operations, Drake Hotel Properties.
Members at last night’s event were able to mingle at The Drake’s stunning rooftop bar, Sky Bar, which overlooks a bustling stretch of West Queen West. As many members mentioned throughout the night, both the event and the location had plenty of ‘cool’ factor.
“The first two events by PropelTO have been totally awesome! This event held at The Drake is super chic and packed full of interesting people,” says Kate Ivchenko, Content Manager, Wheels Up Network and PropelTO member. “I have noticed that the relaunching of PropelTO has brought new energy and excitement to the group, and they are now hosting some of the best events I’ve been to in Toronto.”
All travel industry peers of all ages are welcome to join PropelTO. The next event will be held in November, more details to come.
