Porter adds seasonal roundtrip service from Montreal to L.A. and San Francisco

Porter celebrates launch of Toronto-Fort Myers service

TORONTO — Porter Airlines’ new service between Toronto and Fort Myers, Florida has officially taken to the skies for the first time.

The previously announced route flies daily, roundtrip between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. Flights are operated by a 132-seat, all-economy Embraer E195-E2 aircraft featuring a two-by-two configuration, making Porter the only carrier that can promise passengers no middle seats. Passengers also receive free Wi-Fi, a selection of premium snacks and free beer and wine served in glassware.

Extra legroom seats, premium pre-mixed cocktails and fresh, healthy meals are also available with the all-inclusive PorterReserve fares or can be purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.

Fort Myers is one of the new nonstop routes Porter introduced earlier this year to serve the growing number of Canadians eager to travel south. Other routes in Florida include Toronto (YYZ) to Tamp a (TPA), Orlando (MCO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Miami (MIA), as well as Ottawa (YOW) to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

The new routes are part of Porter’s expansion plans, first revealed in July 2021 at the height of the pandemic. Travelweek recently interviewed Porter Airlines’ President and CEO, Michael Deluce, who discussed the airline’s growth and new routes in the pipeline. To read that interview, click here
