TORONTO — Porter Airlines has launched its new flights between Toronto Pearson and Edmonton, marking Porter’s entry into the Alberta market.
Service on the Toronto Pearson-Edmonton route begins with one daily, nonstop return flight, increasing to three daily flights by May 1.
Meanwhile Porter’s flights to Calgary start Feb. 22 (2x daily). Also later this month, on Feb. 23, the airline is adding Halifax (2x daily). Earlier this month Porter introduced new service to Ottawa and Montreal (both 4x daily) and Vancouver (3x daily).
All of the new flights are on Porter’s new E195-E2 jet aircraft. A 132-seat, two-by-two configuration gives every passenger more space thanks to no middle seat.
Passengers can choose between Porter’s two fare classes: PorterClassic; and PorterReserve, the airline’s new, all-inclusive fare offering dedicated airport check-in, early boarding, enhanced legroom, two checked bags and the ability to change flights without a fee.
“The Toronto-Edmonton route is an opportunity for us to introduce Porter’s elevated economy travel experience to the Edmonton community,” said Porter’s EVP and CCO, Kevin Jackson. “What Porter offers sets us apart from other airlines in North America by treating economy passengers with a level of respect and service that they won’t find anywhere else. ”
