TORONTO — Porter Airlines’ new Fredericton flights start Sept. 12 with daily nonstop service between Ottawa and the New Brunswick capital, and continuing service on the same aircraft to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. A detailed schedule is available at flyporter.com and flights are now available for booking.
“Porter has received tremendous support from Atlantic Canada communities and we’re looking forward to adding service to New Brunswick’s capital,” said Porter Airlines President and CEO Robert Deluce. “Our commitment to customer service, along with providing more options and competitive fares, will be a welcome addition for Fredericton travellers.”
Johanne Gallant, President and CEO of the Fredericton International Airport Authority, said the news was “fantastic” for the region. “As the capital city of New Brunswick and home to the second-largest military base in Canada, we have strong ties to Ottawa, and our vibrant business community will also benefit from the onward flight directly to Billy Bishop Airport in downtown Toronto.”
Direct flights to Ottawa are an added benefit of the daily service for business and leisure travellers.
“We’re thrilled to see Porter Airlines build their YOW-Atlantic Canada reach with the addition of Fredericton,” added Mark Laroche, President and CEO of the Ottawa International Airport Authority.
Fredericton is known as the ‘city at the edge of nature,’ with 88 kilometres of hiking trails and the Saint John River running through the city.
Porter also announced new service today for Saint John, N.B., beginning on Sept. 21.
Porter Escapes vacation packages will be available at porterescapes.com in the coming weeks.
