MISSISSAUGA — TICO has enhanced its Registrant Toolkit with new resources that highlight the benefits of booking with a TICO-registered business.
According to TICO CEO Richard Smart, the toolkit allows registrants to help new and existing clients better understand how booking with a TICO-registered company can give them added peace of mind when travelling.
“Consumer protection isn’t just peace of mind for travellers, it can be a competitive advantage for Ontario’s travel businesses,” he said. “Consumers are looking for security and confidence as they plan their travel, and these new tools make it easier than ever to showcase the benefits and added protection you offer.”
The three new highly requested resources in the toolkit include:
- Social media video: A quick and engaging way to remind clients why booking with a TICO-registered business gives them peace of mind.
- Statement for email signatures & invoices: A simple message linked to a landing page that keeps consumer protection top of mind.
- Conversation guide: A quick reference for travel professionals to confidently explain the consumer protection offered when booking with them.
WHY SHARE THIS INFO?
According to TICO’s recent registrant survey, consumers who know about the consumer protection available to them are significantly more likely to book with a TICO-registered business (75% compared to 43% of the general public).
Survey results also found that 56% of registrants say they have visited the toolkit (more than 10,000 visits since its launch), with 18% sharing its resources with all their clients and 15% sharing them with most clients.
