TORONTO — Porter Airlines has signed on for three more planes, inking a deal with Bombardier for three Q400 turboprop airliners. The firm order is valued at approximately US$93 million based on the list price of the Q400 aircraft.
The new planes bump Porter’s Q400 fleet to 29 aircraft. The first two deliveries are scheduled for December 2016.
“The Toronto-built Bombardier Q400 aircraft is everything you could ask for in a turboprop,” said Porter Airlines President and CEO Robert Deluce. “It is an important component of our award-winning customer experience. The combination of operating efficiency, speed, very low noise levels inside and out, and excellent passenger appeal are unbeatable.”
The 2016 Skytrax World Airline Awards, announced yesterday, recognized Porter Airlines as Best Regional Airline in North America for the third consecutive year. Porter got more good news this week with the 10th spot on Travel & Leisure’s World’s Best list of the top 10 international airlines, the only North American carrier to make the list.
