TORONTO — RIU Hotels & Resorts is expanding its presence in Mexico with the inauguration of its third hotel in Costa Mujeres – Riu Latino.
The company, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Mexico this year, now has 21 hotels at the six most popular beach destinations in the country, as well as in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Riu Latino joins two other resorts in Costa Mujeres – Riu Palace Costa Mujeres and Riu Dunamar, both situated three kilometres away.
The five-star, all-inclusive Riu Latino, located 16 kilometres from Cancun and 33 kilometres from the international airport, offers guests the amenities and facilities of Riu Classic Hotels, but with the added value of exclusive services at adults-only resorts, which up until now was reserved only for Riu Palace hotels.
Among Riu Latino’s 594 rooms, guests can choose from standard double rooms, to suites with views of the Caribbean Sea, to luxury swimout rooms with private pools. Guests will also find six restaurants on site: Moctezuma, the main restaurant; Milan, an Italian restaurant; Geisha, an Asian restaurant, a steakhouse, the gourmet Kulinarium, and a grill buffet called Pepe’s Food. There are also five bars, including a swimup bar.
Other highlights include five pools, the Splash Water World Water Park, the Renova Spa featuring hair and massage services, as well as a wide variety of activities including catamaran excursions, kayaking, and a beginners’ scuba course in the pool.
To round out the fun, the Pacha club is where guests can revel in various parties such as Foam Fest, Silent Disco and the Beach Party. Starting in December 2022, Riu Latino guests can enjoy the famous Riu Party events at nearby Riu Dunamar. The Riu Get Together Party will be held in the hotel theatre every Friday, alternating between the White Party and Neon Party themes.
Following the Riu Latino, RIU Hotels & Resorts will be debuting an additional new hotel in Mexico this year with the opening of Riu Palace Kukulkan in November 2022.
