TORONTO — Fort Myers Beach in Florida is celebrating the grand opening of Margaritaville Beach Resort.

Following the devasting aftermath of Hurricane Ian in October 2022, the opening of the resort marks a significant milestone for the local community, which hosted an exclusive locals-only weekend complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The resort, located less than 20 miles from Southwest Florida International Airport, is now open for stays, dining and spa services as of today, Dec. 11, 2023.

“It’s official – Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach is now open and we are ready to transport guests to a vacation state of mind,” said David Cesario, general manager. “After a difficult few years for the community, our new resort is the ultimate place to kick back and relax and we are thrilled to bring our casual-luxe destination to the residents and visitors of Southwest Florida.”

Located at 251 Crescent St., the resort sits on 7.25 acres along Fort Myers Beach with direct beach access and views of the Gulf of Mexico. It features 254 guestrooms and six restaurants, including JWB Grill, License to Chill Bar & Grill, and 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill. All restaurants, as well as the 43,000 square-foot Sunset Terrace, are open to the public. The property also offers food and beverage service across 19,000 square feet of beach, plus valet parking for guests and the public at a daily rate.

Other highlights include live music throughout the day, activities for all ages, the St. Somewhere Spa, and ‘Fins Up! Beach Club,’ scheduled to open in mid-January. Those arriving before the beach club opens can enjoy complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach.

Nearby, guests can take advantage of a wide array of activities and offerings, including live music and dining, unique shops, shelling, boating, nature trails, state parks and preserves, fishing, golf and water sports. JetBlue Park and Lee Health Sports Complex, the spring training homes of the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins, are also located nearby.
