BALTIMORE — These shoes are lethal – or at least they looked like they could be. And that’s all that mattered to TSA agents at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
According to reports from the Baltimore Sun and the New York Post, a woman flying out of Baltimore over the weekend packed the gun-shaped high heels – along with two matching bracelets studded with fake bullets – in her carry-on baggage.
TSA agents asked her to re-pack the ‘killer heels’ and accessories in her checked luggage, but she refused, arguing that she was running late for her flight. She left the shoes and bracelets with TSA agents. “Shoes and bracelets that are less than ideal to wear or bring to a @TSA checkpoint. These delayed a traveler at BWI,” read a tweet from TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein.
Known as ‘Bondgirl-701-3 Gun Heel Platform Sandals’, the shoes boast 19 cm. heels shaped like gun barrels and a shiny chrome coating.
A spokeswoman for the shoe manufacturer, Elody Romero, said packing the stilettos in carry-on “probably wasn’t the smartest decision”.
