London, ON — Nexion Canada agents in the Toronto area got one of the first looks at Transat Holidays’ fall and winter product line at last week’s Nexion ‘retreat’ at the tour operator’s offices in Etobicoke.

Attendees had the opportunity to preview the options in-depth, ask questions, and discuss selling techniques, along with identifying the ideal travel clientele. Transat Holidays is one of Nexion Canada’s top suppliers. After successful agent events in Calgary and Vancouver earlier in the summer, Nexion wanted to offer something special by way of training and networking opportunities for new and experienced agents in eastern Canada as well.

“It’s extremely rewarding to add another dimension to Nexion Canada’s offerings. Many of the best lessons in building a business come from other agents who are facing similar opportunities and challenges,” said Mike Foster, President, Nexion Canada, ULC. “I was so impressed by the peer-to-peer sharing of ideas and the genuine support fellow Nexion Canada members showed in helping each other build their businesses. These relationships continue to grow stronger over time.”

Now that the competition is heating up, host agencies are getting creative with new ways to prove their value proposition to their members. “We are seeing more and more industry newcomers looking at the host agency model as an efficient, profitable and supportive option to operate their businesses. This trend is consistent with what we are seeing in the U.S.,” says Jackie Friedman, President, Nexion, CTC, CTIE.

“The growth of the home-based agent channel in Canada does not surprise me at all. We have been looking at the Canadian marketplace for quite some time, especially since our U.S. sales team was getting an increasing number of inquiries from Canadian agents,” she added.

CoNexion 2015, the annual conference for Nexion and Nexion Canada agents, takes place Sept. 26 – Oct. 3 aboard Norwegian Getaway.
