ORLANDO — Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is being billed as the world’s first ‘story coaster’ featuring what Universal Orlando says is ground-breaking coaster technology, and a captivating experience for all Harry Potter fans to enjoy.
Set to open June 13, the new adventure will join the lineup of entertainment experiences in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando. Guests will encounter beloved characters from the Harry Potter films including Arthur Weasley, Hagrid and his loyal dog Fang, through a pre-show experience.
Aboard magical motorbikes, guests will then ascend above the trees, rapidly accelerate through mysterious ruins, speed forward and backward, and much more as they explore the wizarding world and its rarest magical creatures.
UO says guests will also experience the most launches of any roller coaster in the world with a total of seven launches. There’s also an unexpected drop of nearly 5.2 metres, plus riders will also be catapulted 20 metres at a more than 70-degree angle before immediately being dropped backward in one movement. Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will also be the longest roller coaster in Florida, measuring 1.5 kilometres long.
The adventure begins with guests entering ruins which appear to have been abandoned behind Hagrid’s hut. Universal says its award-winning creative team worked in collaboration with the Harry Potter films’ Production Designer, Stuart Craig and Art Director, Alan Gilmore to bring the ruins to life.
