New CEO for St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority

TORONTO — St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture has announced the appointment of Annette Mark as the new CEO of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority.

Mark will lead the SVGTA team to fulfill its primary mandate of destination marketing.

Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture, Honorable Carlos James says he is “delighted to welcome Ms. Mark on board at this critical juncture in St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ intensified tourism development thrust.”

He says he is confident that “Annette will bring her experience and expertise to bear on the re-envisioned SVGTA”, further stating that her appointment comes on the heels of a comprehensive review of the organization’s operations.

Minister James said Mark’s appointment is part of a restructuring exercise which ultimately seeks to ensure that St. Vincent and the Grenadines is an even more competitive and sought after tourism destination. More SVGTA appointments are on the horizon, he added.

Meanwhile Mark says her immediate priorities include addressing the damage caused by Hurricane Beryl, with a focus on restoring affected accommodations, attracting more yacht enthusiasts and improving the overall visitor experience.

Mark is a lawyer with extensive experience in project management planning, and investment promotion. Prior to her appointment as CEO of the SVGTA, she served as a consultant at Sandals St. Vincent and the Grenadines. She previously served as the Executive Director of Invest SVG which is the agency charged with attracting foreign direct investment to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
