TORONTO — Enterprise Holdings says it is providing customers with the most robust loyalty extension yet in the travel industry, through its National Car Rental Emerald Club program.
National Car Rental is extending its loyalty benefits an additional year. Emerald Club Program Free Days, previously expiring Dec. 31, 2020, now will not expire until Dec. 31, 2021.
The company says National is the first in the industry to extend loyalty benefits a full year.
The COVID-19 pandemic impacted many travel plans, and Enterprise Holdings’ brands – National Car Rental and Enterprise Rent-A-Car – have led the car rental industry in supporting loyal customers’ tier extensions and point rollovers, says Randal Narike, Executive Vice President, Global Mobility and Customer Experience at Enterprise Holdings.
“Extending Emerald Club Program Free Days a full year will provide them with more opportunity to use the rewards that they’ve earned,” says Narike. “We hope that this allows them the flexibility to rent a vehicle down the road for that much anticipated business or leisure trip when they are comfortable and able.”
Previous extensions and rollovers to care for customers include:
- Announced in spring 2020, Emerald Club members could redeem their earned free days at any participating U.S. Enterprise Rent-A-Car neighborhood location, in addition to National locations, if they made their reservations by Dec. 31, 2020 for pick up by Jan. 31, 2021. Just added, participating Enterprise Rent-A-Car locations throughout Canada are included as well.
- Both Emerald Club and Enterprise Plus announced extensions to their elite tiers for another year, with expirations going from Feb. 28, 2021, to Feb. 28, 2022. Both loyalty programs also confirmed they would roll over any qualifying rentals and rental days above those needed to get the member to the next tier.
- Announced this summer, the expiration date on free days accrued from Emerald Club’s One Two Free (U.S.) and Rent Rent Reward (Canada) promotion was extended from June 15, 2020, to Dec. 31, 2020.
This type of flexibility is crucial, as is recognizing the importance of ongoing support to customers and their travel needs, said Narike. “We are committed to standing with our customers, and especially our most loyal customers, to let them know we appreciate and support them, even when they are unable to travel with us.”
