ISLA HOLBOX — Mystique Blue Boutique Suites has officially opened its doors in Mexico’s Isla Holbox.

Part of the Sunwing Travel Group, the 38-suite beachfront resort opened on Nov. 2 on the 42-kilometre island within Yum Balam, a protected nature reserve north of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula.

Considered a hidden gem for nature lovers, Mystique offers guests an upscale vacation experience complete with unique dining, upscale services and off-property excursions. Guests can bike up and down the island’s car-free roads, interact with local fishermen, and explore the Yum Balam itself.

The resort’s concierge is on hand to book excursions, be it kayaking through mangroves, learning to kiteboard or swimming with whale sharks that frequent the island from May to September.
