TORONTO — As a result of its high success rate and popularity with travel agents, the Myrtle Beach Area (MBA) Specialist Program at Travelweek’s Learning Centre is being relaunched with updated information and new added prizes including a $250 VISA gift card, hotel stays, $10 Tim Hortons cards, beach bags and more.
The MBA program is designed to educate and enhance the knowledge of the Canadian travel trade on the comprehensive product offering available in the Myrtle Beach area including where to stay, attractions, activities, festivals and much more.
The program has been updated with new information as the destination continues to develop and create great new offerings for visitors including more flight options, a $113 million airport expansion and new attractions.
“For over 50 years the Myrtle Beach area has been a favourite destination for Canadians, especially with our nonstop flights offered by Porter Airlines from Toronto,” said Elaine Michaud, International Sales Manager, Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “So many tell us that Myrtle Beach is their ‘home away from home’. Our southern hospitality, beautiful beaches and mild climate make it the ideal destination during the shoulder months from September to November and March to May.”
With the relaunch of the MBA Specialist Program, monthly prizing includes hotel stays, beach bags, beach towels and $10 Tim Hortons gift cards. Plus, one lucky agent will be awarded a $250 VISA gift card to be drawn in December.
“Knowledge of the destination, and its products and services, is necessary for travel agents to confidently sell it to their clients,” said Kimberly Hartley, Canadian account manager, Travel Solutions by Design. “It is also important for travel agents to experience the ‘New’ Myrtle Beach area first hand – seeing is believing – and once you see it you will sell it.”
The Myrtle Beach Area Specialist Program is now available until Dec. 31. The Travelweek Learning Centre is also running a promotion, Winner Wonderland, where agents get a $10 gift card to Travel in Gear for every course completed by the end of April.
