MARKHAM — TRIPOPPO hosted its Asia & Beyond travel showcase and dinner recently at the Toronto Marriott Markham.

The event was attended by 100+ travel agents, as well as tourism board reps for China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and South Korea, plus airline reps for Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines.

TripOppo’s predecessor, Nexus Holidays Canada, got its start in Toronto in 2005. Nexus Holidays expanded to offer tour programs to South America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. “During the pandemic, they did not stand still but prepared to serve our agents better as we introduced TripOppo in January 2022, focusing on the group travel segment,” says Tres Lobo, now with TripOppo.

The highlight of the event, says Lobo, was former CTV sports anchor Joe Tilley presenting a video, and sharing his experiences, of an Egypt tour he took in November with TripOppo.
