OTTAWA — Travel by Canadian residents to overseas countries rose 7.4% in October to 1.0 million trips, according to Statistics Canada.
Residents of overseas countries made 464,000 trips to Canada in October, down 3.1% from September.
Canadian residents made 3.5 million trips to the United States in October, down 0.4% compared with September. The decrease was mainly attributable to a 1.4% decline in overnight car trips.
In the other direction, travel by United States residents to Canada decreased 0.8% in October compared with September.
