OTTAWA — Playa Hotels & Resorts has announced a new Business Development Manager for the region of Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
Christian Roussin will step into the role, effective Nov. 5, taking over for Amanda Morris, who will be appointed Business Development Manager-Ontario on the same date.
Roussin joins Playa during a period of rapid growth for the company, following September’s announcement of Playa’s strategic alliance with Hilton. Under this partnership, Playa will rebrand two of its all-inclusive resorts – The Royal Playa del Carmen and Dreams La Romana – as Hilton All-Inclusive Resorts, before the end of the year.
In his new role, Roussin will draw from his reputation within the region and extensive travel trade experience. Most recently, he worked at WestJet and WestJet Vacations.
At Playa Hotels & Resorts, he’ll be responsible for managing leisure and groups sales in addition to working closely with travel partners. He’ll also play a key role in building and maintaining Playa’s consumer presence for the company within Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
“The creation of the new position validates Playa’s commitment to the Canadian market and travel agent community,” said Rose Cosentino, Playa Hotels & Resorts Vice President, Sales-Canada. “I am thrilled to have Christian join the Playa family. Not only is Christian well respected within the travel community, but I’m also confident that he will be a complement to our existing team.”
