TORONTO — Congratulations are in order for Maureen Barnes-Smith who is celebrating her 30th year with Unique Vacations Canada Inc., affiliate of the worldwide representative of Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts.
First joining the organization in September 1994 as the first office manager in the Canadian office, Barnes-Smith went on to hold several progressively responsible roles in human resources, operations and sales and marketing. In 2009, she assumed the leadership role of Director of Sales & Marketing, which she held for over a decade before being promoted to Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Canada in March 2021.
On her many contributions throughout the years, Gary C. Sadler, OD, Executive Vice President, Sales & Industry Relations, Unique Vacations Inc., said: “For three decades, the team at Unique Vacations Canada – and dare I say, the wider Canadian travel industry – has benefitted from Maureen’s integrity and honesty, her strategic vision, her steady hand and her sense of Caribbean pride. Without a doubt, Maureen has shaped the identity of Unique Vacations Canada and mentored so many over the years, myself included.”
