JAKARTA, Indonesia – Aviation authorities are questioning a man they suspect stowed away in the wheel well of a jetliner for a free flight in Indonesia.
Ground crew found the man wobbling out after the plane landed Tuesday at Sukarno-Hatta airport in the capital, Jakarta.
Mario Stevan Ambarita, 21, was then rushed to a clinic at the airport for treatment.
The Garuda Indonesia flight had departed almost two hours earlier from Pekanbaru, Riau’s provincial capital.
Airport authority Operational Director Joko Muriadmojo said Thursday that Ambarita is being questioned by ministry investigators.
Media reports said Ambarita would be charged with violating the 2009 Civil Aviation Law, which carries a maximum one-year jail for endangering flight safety.
