MONTREAL — A head’s up to anyone looking to give back this holiday season: the Air Canada Foundation’s Gift of Travel Auction kicks off tonight at midnight.
Launched as part of Air Canada’s new ‘Gift of Travel’ campaign, the online auction will include over 100 aviation items ranging from vintage First-Class menus, window shades and even a full meal cart, to special travel-related experiences such as a wine tasting with Air Canada’s Sommelier, Véronique Rivest, and a drone experience with Drone Delivery Canada.
One hundred percent of the proceeds will be distributed by the Air Canada Foundation to Canadian charitable organizations focused on the health and wellness of children and youth.
The auction runs from midnight tonight, Dec. 2, until Dec. 8 at 9 p.m. ET.
To make a bid, go to www.mycause.bid/aviationacf (English) or www.macause.com/aviationacf (French).
In the spirit of giving and as part of the ‘Gift of Travel’ campaign, Air Canada employees are doing their part to give back to local communities in the midst of the global pandemic.
For example, a group of nine recruiters who, despite being some of the thousands of employees who lost their jobs at Air Canada due to the pandemic, volunteered several hours of their time with the Canadian Red Cross in Montreal to help recruit more than 400 medical support workers for one of the region’s health agencies.
Another six Air Canada employees took part in an initiative to distribute food to vulnerable individuals across Montreal, while other employees took their own initiative to deliver hygiene kits put together by GlobalMedic to support the DESTA Black Youth Network in Montreal and Sardis Doorway in Chilliwack, B.C.
