Major enhancements made to two Costa ships during dry dock

GENOA, ITALY — Two ships in the Costa Cruises fleet are getting a major upgrade: Costa Magica and Costa Pacifica.

The cruise line has announced major shipboard improvements on both ships, in addition to regular maintenance during their dry docking at the Port of Marseille Fos.

Costa Magica, which left Marseille from its dry dock on Nov. 25, underwent major refurbishment of its restaurants and wellness areas. Major changes to layout and amenities were made to the Vicenza Club Restaurant and Bellagio Buffet Restaurant, while the Buffet Bellagio Restaurant was also improved with a more efficient space allocation.

The spa’s wellness and gym spaces were renovated, and a sauna, thalassotherapy pool and thermal area were also added.

On Costa Pacific, which is dry docked from Nov. 26-Dec. 7, new digital signage will be installed including new high-resolution monitors and interactive screens to inform guests about different onboard events and activities.

Renovations also include the addition of Pizzeria Pummid’Oro on Costa Pacific and the Gelateria Amarillo on both ships. At the pizzeria, guests will be able to enjoy classic Italian pizza made with dough from 100% natural yeast, real mozzarella produced onboard and select flours. For dessert, they can now indulge in authentic Italian gelato made with Agrimontana flavourings.

Once the upgrades have been completed, Costa Magica and Costa Pacifica will reposition to the Caribbean for their scheduled winter cruises.
