HONG KONG — Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced that it will manage a luxury resort on Grand Cayman, currently scheduled to open in 2021.
Mandarin Oriental, Grand Cayman will be an exclusive 100-room beachfront resort located 15 minutes from the airport, on 67 acres at St. James Point on the southern shore of the island. There will also be 89 branded Residences at Mandarin Oriental. The company says the site benefits from an elevated position overlooking its own secluded white-sand beach for “a truly private luxury retreat”. All rooms and suites will face the sea for sunrise and sunset views.
Dining options will include five restaurants and bars, plus the resort will offer a range of wellness options including a Spa at Mandarin Oriental, fitness centre, several outdoor swimming pools and tennis courts. Landscaped walking and cycling trails will traverse the 67-acre site and a Beach Club will offer a variety of leisure and water sports activities.
A range of flexible meeting and banqueting facilities, including outdoor areas, will provide ample space for destination weddings, social and business events.
