Loch Ness monster’s long-lost relative spotted in Scotland

STERLINGSHIRE, SCOTLAND – Is it an old tree stump? A giant lizard? Or just really good camera trickery?

A photo taken by Jimmy Wright of Killearn, Stirlingshire in Scotland has many people scratching their heads and wondering whether monsters really do exist.

While out walking his son’s dog on Crow Hill, Wright noticed what he thought looked like a dinosaur in the distance. Calling it an “unexpected” sight, he took a picture of it and posted it on the Killearn For All Facebook page, which prompted people from around the world to submit their own theories as to what exactly this mystery beast is.

Some disregarded it as an old tree stump, while others suggested a link to ol’ Nessie herself, the infamous Loch Ness monster that was first ‘spotted’ in the Scottish Highlands in 1933.

The idea of a living Nessie relative quickly spread, with one resident, Mary Young, going so far as to donate £100 to the charity of choice of the person who comes up with the name with the most ‘likes’, reports The Mirror.

The leading contender as of now is Nessie Dorma, which we think has a nice ring to it.

So what do you think? Are monsters real?
