Second anniversary of Carnival’s Travel Agent Rewards Program marked with ‘Double the Appreciation, Double the Rewards’ promotion

Second anniversary of Carnival’s Travel Agent Rewards Program marked with ‘Double the Appreciation, Double the Rewards’ promotionMIAMI — Carnival is celebrating the second anniversary of its Travel Agent Rewards Program with a new ‘Double the Appreciation, Double the Rewards’ promotion for agents throughout the month of February.

Through the promotion, all new online bookings made during the month of February entered into the program will be eligible for double rewards points.

The only program of its kind in the cruise industry, Carnival’s Travel Agent Rewards Program enables agents to earn points for the activities they do every day in working with Carnival. Travel agents can earn 50 to 3,000 points per activity in the program, all of which will be doubled as part of the current promotion. Points can be redeemed for Carnival logo items, $50 and $100 Visa/MasterCard gift cards, iPads and flat screen TVs.

Redemption items are valued between 2,500 and 100,000 points.

“Since launching the program two years ago, we’ve had more than 30,000 travel agents enroll, over one million activities entered and 13,500 items redeemed,” said Joni Rein, Carnival’s vice president of worldwide sales. “We hit record levels of rewards earned in 2013 and are so excited that travel agents continue to show such strong enthusiasm for the program.”

Since the program’s launch, the most popular point-earners in the program are making new bookings, booking cruise rookies and travel professionals sailing on Carnival. These activities are also the highest point earners in the program at 150, 750 and 1,000 points each.

Additional point earners include attending a Carnival Conversations event, trade show, training session or other Carnival-affiliated event; reading e-mails from Carnival on sales, news and promotions; graduating from Carnival Passport program levels and visiting GoCCL.com.

In 2013, agents earned a record number of points in the program with the fall triple point bonus promotion, and in October during National Cruise Vacation Week, where agents earned 3,000 points per booking.

As part of the program’s guidelines, travel agents are given 90 days to enter activities from the time they are completed, allowing them ample time to receive credit for their points earned.
