CANCUN — Karisma hosted its 9th annual Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant Sales and Marketing Forum in Cancun from Dec. 7-9, which included its annual awards evening during which top travel agents from the U.S., Canada and the U.K. were honoured.
Taking place at the El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels by Karisma, the event kicked off with an ‘Indiana Jones Adventure’, featuring Karisma’s own version of the popular film franchise.
On Thursday morning, agents met Karisma’s wholesale partners and participated in a marketing forum led by Mandy Chomat, Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing Karisma, Daniel Scheiman, Senior Development Manager, North America, and Sabrina Filatow, National Sales Director, Karisma. Scheiman reviewed some of Karisma’s new products that were introduced in 2016, including El Dorado’s new overwater suites – the Palafitos – located at El Dorado Morama, and the opening of a Nickelodeon hotel featuring over 200 rooms, a huge playground and eight gourmet dining venues. He also announced Karisma’s future plans, including more overwater suites at its Generations site.
Chomat reinforced Karisma’s commitment to its distribution channel and also reminded travel agents that their support was a key component of this distribution system. He underscored that Karisma partners with only 1,000 retailers and that it will continue to focus on its relationships with this group.
The Forum was capped off by a formal awards evening. Canadian travel agents receiving awards included:
- Pamela Walker, escapes.ca: Top Selling Home Based Agent
- Jen Jackson, Travel Professionals International: Top Selling Store Front Agent
- Martine Phaneuf, Vacances Le Faubourg: Top Producer in Quebec
$250,000 in cash was awarded to agents in each of the 5 Diamond classes who increased their sales during the year by more than 20%.
