TORONTO — Intrepid Travel’s new ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ trip is a 38-day tour of Italy, India and Bali designed “to inspire solo female travelers to connect with their one true love: travel,” says Intrepid.
Taking its inspiration from Elizabeth Gilbert’s best-selling book, the one-off tour departs Sept. 30 in Rome. From there travellers will head north by train to visit the vineyards of San Gimignano before arriving in Venice “for a week of exploration and gluttony”.
From Venice it’s a cross continent flight to Delhi. Iconic sites on the itinerary include the Taj Mahal and Red Fort in Agra. The last stop of the tour is Bali, Indonesia, where idyllic countryside and picturesque beaches await.
“Valentine’s Day always seems to bring about the couple trips and weekend getaways, but what about the solo travellers?” said Leigh Barnes, VP of Intrepid Travel. “Over 60% of our travellers are female and a majority of them travel independently. We wanted to create something especially for them and build a fun anti-Valentine’s Day itinerary in the spirit of one of the most iconic travel tales.”
The trip also falls ahead of the book’s 10-year anniversary on Feb. 16. Since the book’s release thousands of solo female travellers have set off on their own journeys of self-discovery. For more information including pricing and inclusions visit intrepidtravel.com/self-discovery.
