ATLANTA — There’s a new kid on the Big Apple block, courtesy of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), and it’s hell-bent on making guests feel refreshed and rejuvenated in both body and mind.

IHG has announced the opening of the EVEN Hotels brand’s fourth hotel and second New York City location – the 202-room flagship EVEN Hotels Brooklyn. EVEN Hotels is IHG’s newest lifestyle hotel brand, and was designed to help travellers “Eat Well, Rest Easy, Keep Active and Accomplish More.”

The new hotel is located adjacent to IHG’s Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown, which opened in April, within walking distance to Forte Green Park and Brooklyn Academy of Music. A focus on wellness is evident throughout the hotel, in its free filtered water, natural light-filled Athletic Studio, two-storey living green wall, ergonomically designed work spaces, and market fresh menu items.

Guests can also enjoy spin and yoga classes, plus group runs to the Brooklyn Bridge Park led by the property’s Chief Wellness Officer. The 2.2-mile loop can easily be modified to a 5k or 10k course for runners or walkers looking to increase their distance.

Guestrooms feature an In-Room Training Zone, which includes a foam roller, yoga mat, yoga block, core exercise ball and the EVEN Hotels Trainer, a mounted fitness wall featuring resistance bands. Guests will also find eucalyptus fiber linens that offer a cooler sleep, fully glass-enclosed rainfall showers and colour LED mood lighting in their rooms.

EVEN Hotels is expanding rapidly with hotels now open in New York City, Rockville, Maryland, and Norwalk, Connecticut, and seven hotels in the pipeline including a third New York City area hotel (Manhattan), Omaha, Seattle, Miami, Eugene, Houston and Pittsburg.
