MIAMI — Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has announced the reopening of a beloved property and the opening of a brand new one in the Dominican Republic to cap off a highly successful year.
Situated on Bavaro Beach, the Iberostar Selection Bávaro, the hotel that spearheaded Iberostar’s operations internationally in 1993, reopened on Nov. 26 following extensive renovations. The five-star, beachfront property offers 595 newly renovated rooms across family-friendly bungalows, seven restaurants, revamped SPA Sensations massage rooms, a swimming pool for young guests, and a new Star Camp area for kids and teens.
Next week, the five-star Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Bávaro, a hotel within the hotel, will make its debut on Dec. 16. It offers 162 suite-style rooms and all the benefits of Iberostar Selection Bávaro facilities. Guests also enjoy two private swimming pools, including a beachfront infinity pool, an exclusive reception area, concierge service at any time of the day as well as a preferential beachfront location.
All Coral Level guests benefit from a range of offerings and personalized services, including staying in rooms with upgraded amenities and the best views, an exclusive lounge, 24-hour concierge service, pillow selection, access to a private beach with an open bar, private check-in and the possibility of a late checkout, and a buffet restaurant with an à la carte menu.
Guests at both hotels can also access the Iberostar Bávaro Golf Club, a par-72, crosswind, 18-hole golf course designed by veteran pro golfer P.B. Dye, as well as scuba diving options with the coordination of on-property operator Dressel Divers, for an additional cost.
The Spanish hotel chain has also launched Wave of Change, the company’s pioneering, ocean-protecting movement based on three pillars: moving beyond plastics and towards a circular economy, promoting the responsible consumption of seafood, and improving coastal health. In this sense, both Iberostar Selection Bávaro and the Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Bávaro offer rooms free of single-use plastics, as well as water refill stations to invite guests to help save over 85,000 plastic water bottles a year.
