Travel advisors earn high praise at Sandals S.T.A.R. Awards

SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES — Sandals is celebrating the triumphant return of its popular S.T.A.R. Awards this week at its newest resort, Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Officially known as the Sandals Travel Agency Recognition (S.T.A.R.) Awards, the annual event, which was temporarily put on hold due to the pandemic, is now in its 19th year, bringing together close to 500 top-producing travel advisors from Canada, the United States, United Kingdom and Latin America.

While the event takes place from May 13-18, the Canadian contingent is the only agent group to stay for a full seven nights in order to access Air Canada’s direct flight from Toronto.

At an official welcome reception last night, Gary Sadler, Executive Vice President of Sales & Industry Relations at Unique Vacations Inc., promised a fun-filled and informative week ahead and thanked advisors for their continued support.

“It’s all about celebrating the work that you do, it’s all about celebrating everything that you do every day. So thank you very much on behalf of all us at Unique Vacations and Sandals Resorts,” said Sadler.

Over the course of the week, travel advisors will participate in various sessions, including ‘Social Media Marketing,’ ‘Destination Weddings Showcase,’ and ‘Sandals and Beaches general session.’ The week will culminate in the S.T.A.R. Awards Ceremony this Thursday.

Advisors will also get the chance to explore the destination of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, courtesy of various optional tours with Island Routes such as Dark View Falls & Historical West Coast Experience, Kingstown Walking & Shopping Tour, La Soufriere Volcano Day Cruise, and a Half-Day Bequia Snorkel Cruise.

Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines made its grand debut this past March as Sandals’ 18th resort and its first in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The property offers 301 rooms and suites across 50 lush acres, a 300-foot linear pool, three additional pools, and Vincy Overwater Two-Story Villas. Other resort highlights include 11 culinary concepts, five of which are brand new to the Sandals brand, an open-air beach club and kitchen, and five bars, including a rum bar with a selection of 32 rums.
