The Luxury Collection expands in Canada with Muir Hotel in Halifax

BETHESDA, MD — The Luxury Collection has added another Canadian property to its global portfolio with the debut of Muir, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Halifax.

Situated on the Halifax waterfront in the Queen’s Marque cultural district, the hotel reflects the brand’s emphasis on delivering locally rooted luxury experiences. Featuring 109 guestrooms and suites, Muir incorporates bespoke furnishings, original Nova Scotian art and sweeping ocean views. Materials like local sandstone, salt-and-pepper granite and Muntz metal – a copper alloy historically used in shipbuilding – feature prominently throughout the design.

“The introduction of Muir, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Halifax, represents a significant milestone in the brand’s continued expansion in Canada and reflects our commitment to offering travellers immersive experiences deeply rooted in local culture,” said Bruce Rohr, vice president and global brand leader, The Luxury Collection.

“True to its promise – Born of this Place – the hotel captures the spirit of Nova Scotia with striking authenticity. Its maritime heritage, coastal beauty, and vibrant local artistry are woven throughout the experience, offering guests a rare opportunity to connect with Halifax in a way that is both meaningful and elevated — hallmarks of The Luxury Collection,” added Rohr.

The hotel offers a range of high-end amenities, including Drift, a waterfront restaurant that presents a modern take on Atlantic Canadian cuisine. Guests also have exclusive access to BKS, a hidden speakeasy with a curated cocktail menu and small plates that opens onto an elevated waterfront terrace.

Other highlights include a full-service wellness centre, private yacht and motorboat excursions, and curated cultural experiences. As part of its integration into The Luxury Collection, Muir is rolling out new signature experiences that reflect the region’s spirit, such as private air and sea expeditions to Cape Breton Highlands and guided conversations at the hotel’s True Colours art gallery. The hotel also features the brand’s signature Epicurean Moments including a daily toast synced with Halifax’s Noon Gun tradition and a hands-on mixology class in the speakeasy.

The Luxury Collection is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 hotel brands. For more information go to www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/YHZLC.
