Riu Plaza Guadalajara opens 360° rooftop bar

GUADALAJARA — The Riu Plaza Guadalajara has introduced a striking new addition to its offerings with the launch of a 360° Rooftop Bar on the hotel’s 41st floor.

Located near the renowned Matute Remus Bridge, the Riu Plaza Guadalajara first opened in 2011 as RIU’s inaugural city hotel in Mexico and the second globally. Now, with the unveiling of its new rooftop venue, the hotel aims to solidify its status as a premier social and hospitality destination.

Offering panoramic views of Guadalajara, the 360° Rooftop Bar accommodates up to 370 guests. Its standout feature is a glass balcony that extends 215 metres above the ground, providing a thrilling vantage point for those seeking a unique experience.

The bar’s menu is equally enticing, featuring an array of Mexican and Spanish dishes such as aguachile, barbecue tacos and ham croquettes. Guests can also enjoy an extensive selection of cocktails – ranging from classic to creative mixes – as well as a curated collection of wines. To enhance the experience, the venue hosts live music events, including DJ sets on Thursdays and Saturdays and performances by a female mariachi band on Fridays.

The official opening took place on March 6, 2025, with notable attendees including city and state officials, business partners, media representatives and RIU’s senior management. Daniele Camponovo, RIU’s Director of Operations for the Mexican Pacific, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside David Mendoza Martínez, General Coordinator of Economic Development of Guadalajara, who represented the city’s Mayoress, Verónica Delgadillo García. During the event, Camponovo also announced that select areas of the Riu Plaza Guadalajara will undergo renovations in 2026.

The 360° Rooftop Bar follows the success of similar rooftop venues at the Riu Plaza España in Madrid and the Riu Plaza Chicago. With its sophisticated ambiance and breathtaking views, the new addition is poised to become one of Guadalajara’s most sought-after social hotspots, further enhancing the hotel’s reputation as a key player in the city’s hospitality and cultural scene.
