SAN PEDRO, BELIZE — Margaritaville Beach Resort Ambergris Caye, Belize has officially opened its doors.
A grand opening ceremony took place last week with Belize’s Prime Minister John Briceño and other government officials and key executives in attendance.
Said Kenya Guzman, General Manager: “We were honoured to welcome these esteemed guests to Margaritaville Beach Resort Ambergris Cay, Belize to officially celebrate the property’s grand opening. We’re incredibly thankful to our partners who have worked with us to open this stunning adventure hideaway.”
Party guests, who arrived at the resort’s new private dock via a scenic boat transfer, enjoyed a signature cocktail upon arrival before checking into their expansive suites and sampling fresh island fare at Riddles in the Sand, the resort’s main restaurant that offers dining on deck or in the sand.
Following an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the property the following morning, shareholders, executives, media and influencers attended the beachside grand opening ceremony where Prime Minister Briceño led a celebratory toast to the new resort. The next day, the celebrations continued at Hol Chan Marine Reserve where guests snorkelled through protected coral reefs, and at Shark-Ray Alley where they swam alongside nurse sharks. The day ended with rest and relaxation in private cabanas, dinner at Sunbaked BBQ and seaside bonfires.
Nestled in Ambergris Caye and surrounded by a 185-mile-long barrier reef, Margaritaville Beach Resort Ambergris Caye offers one-, two- and three-bedroom suites featuring oversized terraces, as well as lagoon-shaped pools and a wide array of adventure options, from ziplining to ATVs, snorkelling and fishing. The resort is also committing to sustainability with efforts that include rainwater harvesting, sand walking paths, renewable cutlers and refillable toiletries.
