TORONTO — The Chelsea Hotel, Toronto has appointed Shane Downey as Managing Director.
Downey’s hospitality career spans 20+ years at five-star luxury, select-service and extended stay hotels around the world, including Europe, the Middle East, the U.S. and Canada with Marriott, Hilton and some independent hotels.
He successfully led the opening, rebranding and reconceptualization of many properties, and managed multiple capital projects exceeding millions of dollars. He is originally from Ireland where he earned his B.B.S in International Hotel Management at Shannon College of Hotel Management.
No stranger to the city of Toronto, Downey joins the Chelsea Hotel from his most recent position as GM for the Delta Hotel, Toronto. Prior to that he was hotel manager at the Sheraton Centre, Toronto.
