TORONTO — What’s in a name? How about a free spot on an upcoming fam to Kenya, says Goway Travel.
The tour operator is asking travel agents to help name a young elephant that it will be sponsoring in partnership with Kenya Wildlife Service this year.
Agents who book any Goway Africa trip between July 18 and Aug. 15 will be invited to suggest a name for the elephant. The winning name will earn one lucky agent a free spot on a November 2022 Kenya fam, with the chance to meet the elephant they named. The itinerary includes the Masai Mara, Amboseli National Park, Tsavo West National Park and Nairobi. Up to five additional agents who entered will also have the opportunity to book a spot on the fam at a reasonable price.
To enter, agents can book and deposit any Goway Africa trip during the contest period. Eligible agents will then receive an email with an invitation to suggest a name.
According to Goway, Kenya hosts an estimated 10% of the world’s African elephants. Preserving them, however, is an ongoing task that requires combating poaching, minimizing human-elephant conflict, and slowing the effects of climate change.
“That’s why Kenya takes a multi-pronged approach to conservation in which education, community outreach and tourism all play key parts,” says Goway. “Goway is committed to doing their part for Kenya’s conservation effort and is delighted to invite their agent partners to join them.”
