GMCVB's 'Find Your Miami' reception at Second Floor Events in Toronto

GMCVB invites travellers, agents to ‘Find Your Miami’

TORONTO — Miami’s brand new campaign was in the spotlight at an industry event last night in Toronto, hosted by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.

‘Find Your Miami’ invites travellers to revel in their own unique experiences in the Florida hotspot, while ‘Miami Beach Find Your Wave’ showcases the assets of Miami Beach, “the destination within the destination,” says Suzie Sponder, Senior Director of Communications for the GMCVB.

The multimedia marketing campaigns welcome travellers and meeting planners from all lifestyles to explore the diverse, hidden gems of Greater Miami and Miami Beach.

Fun mash-ups of descriptors – from ‘Artventerous’ and ‘Celovebration’, to ‘Deluxious’ and ‘Fitnescape’ – beckon travellers to explore Miami’s art, outdoor adventure, top-level dining, culture, luxury offerings and, of course, the iconic beach scene

The campaign will be promoted through multiple media channels and mediums, using extensive marketing and advertising tools such as print ads, display banners, interactive mobile/desktop display ads, a dedicated URL on MiamiandMiamiBeach.com and more, as well as dedicated emails and promotional buys.

The GMCVB wants to help visitors – and their travel advisors – rediscover why they love to travel to Miami and Miami Beach.

So many visitors associate Miami with high-energy nightlife, fine dining and major cultural events like Art Basel. First-time visitors – and even return visitors who think they know Miami inside and out – might be surprised to learn the city is home to two national parks: Biscayne National Park, and Everglades National Park. Opportunities for outdoor adventure abound in Miami.

In fact, ‘Outdoor Oasis’ and ‘Health & Wellness’ are two of the GMCVB’s core brand pillars, along with ‘Rich Heritage’, ‘Meetings & Conventions’ and ‘Cultural Capital’.

Last night’s event featured an artist from Miami’s eclectic Wynwood district. Wynwood, known as the city’s creative and cultural hub, is home to galleries, shops, bars, restaurants and, most famously, the ‘Wynwood Walls’, featuring dazzling and colourful murals by top artists.

It’s easier than ever getting to Miami, thanks to plentiful lift from Canada. Sponder says Air Canada’s direct flights from Vancouver to Miami ended an 18-year drought of direct service to Miami from YVR. “That’s a game-changer for us,” said Sponder. Meanwhile Air Transat is bumping up its Miami frequencies from Montreal. Both Ontario and Quebec deliver big visitor numbers for Miami.

Not surprisingly, worldwide visitor numbers into Miami have skyrocketed since the pandemic, and even since 2019, she added.

New hotels include Wynwood’s first property, the Arlo Wynwood Miami. Other new options include the Moxy Miami South Beach, citizenM Miami Worldcenter and the Elser Hotel & Residences.

Also new for Miami – very new – is a new rail route with Florida’s Brightline train. Starting tomorrow, Sept. 22, Brightline service will begin operating between Miami and Orlando. The 378-km, 3.5 hour trip should appeal to visitors who want to experience both iconic Florida destinations. Other Florida cities on Brightline’s network include Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach.
