G Adventures, Tokyo Tourism partner for new campaign

TORONTO — G Adventures, and Tokyo Tourism have joined forces for a campaign aimed at encouraging Canadians to visit Tokyo, and especially to see the city as a year-round vacation destination.

Agents can let clients know they can save 10% off select trips that visit Tokyo between Oct. 22 and Nov. 19, 2019. The multi-channel campaign launches Oct. 7, 2019 and runs through to November.

Aizaz Sheikh, G Adventures’ Canadian Marketing Director, says sales of G Adventures’ Japan tours, many of which visit Tokyo, grew 15% in the last year. “Tokyo is a bucket list destination for so many people. It’s the largest city in the world and Tokyo’s culture, lights, architecture, food, cherry blossoms, and history attract travellers from all over the world, including many Canadians.”

Shin Kawai, Director, Tokyo Tourism, Toronto Representative Office, says that as the host city for the 2020 Olympics and Paralympic Games, Tokyo Tourism is excited to launch this joint campaign with G Adventures, “one of the most innovative industry leaders in Canada.”

Adds Kawai: “Rich in traditions and cutting edge innovations, Tokyo is one of the most unique and exciting cities for travellers who are looking for their own adventure. In Tokyo, whether you are in Shibuya or out in Okutama, you can literally find millions of neighbourhoods, each with its own unique history, lifestyle, charm, and of course, local delicacies.”

The campaign will be promoted through G Adventures’ newsletter and website, and will include online and social advertising as well.
