PARIS — A French prosecutor says the piece of wing discovered in July on a remote Indian Ocean island has been formally identified as having come from the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
In a statement, the Paris prosecutor’s office said technical analysis of the part, called a flaperon, had enabled investigators to link a serial number found on the part with a corresponding number on the Boeing 777 that disappeared March 8, 2014 with 239 people aboard.
