BRUSSELS — Brussels Airlines has a new interim CEO following the resignation of Peter Gerber.
The carrier announced Gerber’s resignation yesterday. Christina Foerster has been appointed ad-interim CEO. Foerster is a member of the Lufthansa Group Executive Board. Foerster also served as Brussels Airline’s Chief Commercial Officer from 2016, and as CEO between 2018 and 2020.
Gerber has led the Belgian airline since March 1, 2021, in addition to holding the newly created position of Lufthansa Group Chief Representative for European Affairs. With his resignation he is leaving the Lufthansa Group.
Gerber began his career with the Lufthansa Group in 1992. Brussels Airlines says a long-term successor for Peter Gerber “is to be found as soon as possible.”
