TORONTO — Leave it to WOW air to post a wow-worthy, out-of-this-world, dream job.
Iceland’s ultra low-cost airline, which is currently working on launching its first-ever WOW Travel Guide, has announced that it is now accepting applications for two “lively content creators” who’ll be paid to travel the world.
As per the job post, the airline is looking for someone who’s “fun and creative, with an eye for good content, and have a streak of wanderlust on a budget”. The winning candidate must be at least 18 years of age, be able to create English-language content and have the ‘ability to have a great time, no matter where you go.” He/she must also have an accompanying friend, as the three-month summer position calls for a travelling duo.
What does the dream job entail exactly? Relocating to WOW air basecamp (which is really an apartment in downtown Reykjavik), experiencing and documenting Iceland’s Blue Lagoon, midnight sun, black sand beaches and other beautiful sites, travelling to WOW’s hottest destinations across North America and Europe (ie. Barcelona, Berlin, Stockholm, New York City, Paris, etc), documenting experiences through vlogs, photos and write-up tips for each city, and finally rating each city’s food, nightlife, activities, hospitality and ‘budget friendliness’.
The job lasts from June 1-Aug. 15. Applications will be open to candidates from around the world. Candidates can apply by submitting a vlog featuring a fun travel tip from their hometown and a bit of information about themselves on WOW air’s website: travelguide.wowair.com.
Deadline to submit an application is May 14, with the successful candidates announced on May 18.
