Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King on board the new Disney Destiny

Disney Destiny to set sail in November 2025

CELEBRATION, FL — Hold onto your capes! Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship is set to debut next year with a focus on larger-than-life heroes and villains.

Disney Destiny, sister ship to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, will sail its maiden voyage from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in November 2025, followed by an inaugural season of four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean. Voyages will visit one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations: Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club members can book a Disney Destiny cruise as early as Sept. 6, 2024. Bookings open to the general public on Sept. 12, 2024.

HEROES & VILLAINS DESIGN

For the Disney Destiny, the Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering teams have summoned some of Disney’s most popular tales of heroism to forge a first-of-its-kind design theme: ‘Heroes and Villains.’ The ship will be a celebration of charismatic characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Disney Parks. And, for the first time in Disney Cruise Line history, a Marvel Super Hero will be the signature stern character, with a sculpture of Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots decorating the filigree on the back of the ship.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Each stateroom aboard Disney Destiny will showcase custom artwork depicting the journeys of famous Disney legends. Most staterooms will also feature Disney Cruise Line’s signature split-bath concept, and many will offer the option of a connecting door that adjoins staterooms to accommodate larger groups.

Concierge guests will receive a premium level of dedicated service and access to exclusive areas and amenities, including a concierge lounge and private sun deck. Concierge staterooms inspired by Disney Animation’s ‘Fantasia’ feature watercolour-style artwork, while seven special oceanview rooms located directly above the bride provide floor-to-ceiling views and iconography of Pixar’s ‘The Incredibles.’

In four ‘Hero Suites,’ guests will notice Greco-Roman architecture, while the boldly-themed IncrediSuites take inspiration from the exploits of ‘The Incredibles’ through a mid-century aesthetic inspired by the Pixar films. And the Destiny Tower Suite, an opulent Marvel-inspired penthouse, honours Iron Man’s legacy across 2,000 square feet that includes a two-storey window, a full kitchen and private ensuite elevator.

FAMILY DINING

Disney Cruise Line will debut a brand-new family dining experience exclusive to the Disney Destiny, complementing two guest-favourite restaurants from the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure.

The iconic songs of ‘The Lion King’ will come to life at Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, a first-of-its-kind dining experience that includes live musicians and storytellers. Worlds of Marvel, meanwhile, will allow families to eat while watching onscreen stories starring Rocket and Groot from the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ films. And 1923, named for the founding year of The Walt Disney Company, celebrates the legacy of Disney animation in an elegant setting featuring 1,000 drawings, props and tools of the animation trade.

Disney cruise Line’s innovative family dining concept allows guests to experience one of three restaurants each night, accompanied by a dedicated service team that is assigned to their family throughout the voyage. Families will also enjoy quick meals and snacks with a variety of dining options, including Café Megara and Café Merida, two new walk-up cafes inspired by Disney Animation’s ‘Hercules’ and Pixar Animation Studios’ ‘Brave.’ Also, the all-new ‘Edna Á La Mode Sweets’ will feature a selection of handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies and specialty treats from Edna Mode’s lab.

EPIC ENTERTAINMENT

Like all Disney Cruise Line ships, the Disney Destiny will offer entertainment for the whole family, including brand-new experiences and guest-favourite shows and activities. Guests will encounter an entire cast of Disney’s most heroic and misunderstood characters while onboard, including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Jack Sparrow and more. Other highlights include:

  • The Grand Hall: Poised to be the most prominent gathering space, this living theatre will be where heroes and villains take centre stage and interact with guests through immersive shows and interactive programming.
  • Saga: This two-storey central hub will be where guests will enjoy daytime family activities and adult-exclusive evening entertainment. A variety of interactive shows and events will be available, including classics like ‘Match Your Mate’ and ‘Family Time Game Show.’
  • Walt Disney Theatre: This opulent show palace will come to life with Broadway-style productions of ‘Frozen, A Musical Spectacular’ and ‘Disney Seas the Adventure.’

  • Hero Zone: This futuristic sports arena will feature ‘The Incredibles’-themed family competitions and free-play sports.
  • Disney Uncharted Adventure: This interactive experience uses guests’ mobile devices to join favourite Disney and Pixar heroes on virtual quests throughout the ship.
  • Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas: Guests can enjoy all-you-can-watch complimentary movie showings every day, from classic to first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and more.
