LAS VEGAS — Four travel advisors from four corners of the world – including Canada – recently took part in Travel Nevada’s ‘Neon to Nature’ road trip fam.
Sarah Reed with Country Junction Travel in Whitecourt, AB joined Travel Nevada’s Elsa Gomez and three travel advisors from Germany, the UK and Australia for the trip.
The ‘Trailblazers’ earned their place on the fam as part of Nevada’s Trailblazers specialist program.
The five-day Nevada fam was themed “Neon to Nature,” starting in Las Vegas before venturing across the Silver State.
Kicking off in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world, the group explored the Downtown Las Vegas precinct and Fremont Street Experience before settling in for the night at the Circa Hotel and Casino.
Leaving Las Vegas behind, the group made their way to Boulder City, making a stop at Hoover Dam before exploring the Nevada State Railroad Museum and Boulder City. Overnight, the group stayed at El Rancho Boulder Motel.
On day three the group set off for Red Rock Canyon and a Red E-Bike adventure. The journey continued with a visit to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park and wrapped up with an overnight stay at Pahrump Nugget Hotel, known for its award-winning wineries.
The next day started with a visit to Goodsprings Ghost Town, once a mining town with a population of 800 in the early 1900s and now home to 200 residents. Goodsprings is also home to the Pioneer Saloon, the oldest bar in Southern Nevada.
From there the group travelled along the Free Range Art Highway with a neon-coloured photo stop at the open-air art installation Seven Magic Mountains. After time at historic Techatticup Mine, the oldest and most famous gold mine in Southern Nevada, the group enjoyed a night at Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin, the bustling waterfront city on the Colorado River.
Wrapping up the five-day adventure, the group returned to Las Vegas to take in the Wynn Hotel’s ‘Awakening’ spectacular.
