TORONTO — Thailand is setting a new benchmark for travel convenience with the launch of its Digital Arrival Card system, part of the country’s flagship “Grand Tourism and Sport Year 2025” initiative.
Effective May 1, 2025, all non-Thai nationals entering Thailand by air, land or sea will be required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within three days before arrival.
Travellers can access the platform at https://tdac.immigration.go.th.
The new system replaces the traditional paper-based disembarkation forms previously required for foreign visitors. By digitizing entry procedures, Thailand is streamlining the arrival process at international airports, aligning itself with global travel technology trends and enhancing the visitor experience. The move is part of Thailand’s broader commitment to “smart tourism,” aimed at improving connectivity, convenience and overall travel efficiency.
A BANNER YEAR
The rollout of the TDAC coincides with Thailand’s goal of welcoming 39 million international visitors in 2025. Under the “Grand Tourism and Sport Year 2025” banner, visitors will have access to an expanded calendar of festivals, world-class sporting events, and exclusive promotional offers.
In support of this initiative, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is encouraging visitors to experience the country through its “5 Must-Do’s”:
- Must Taste – From vibrant street food to world-class dining
- Must Try – Immerse in Thai culture through cooking classes, Muay Thai sessions, and local traditions
- Must Shop – Discover Thai silk, handcrafted products, and authentic local goods
- Must Seek – Explore hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path destinations
- Must See – Experience major festivals and headline cultural events
Thailand’s global profile is also rising with the premiere of ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3, filmed across Phuket, Koh Pha-Ngan, Bangkok and Koh Samui. Capitalizing on the show’s popularity, TAT has partnered with New York-based heritage brand 3.1 Phillip Lim to launch a special collaboration, “Blooming Lotus: 3.1 Phillip Lim x Amazing Thailand.”
The limited-edition collection, inspired by Thailand’s natural beauty and the new season of The White Lotus, features yoga wear, mesh bags, denim and bomber jackets, t-shirts, duffle bags and fisherman’s totes. The collection will be available starting April 24 at 31PhillipLim.com and ThailandInsider.com/BloomingLotus.
