‘Riverdance 30 – The Next Generation’ wows at Tourism Ireland event

TORONTO — The enthusiastic applause from the crowd last night (almost) matched the tremendous sound of Irish step dancing showcased at a Riverdance performance, for a group of lucky travel industry attendees.

Officially ‘Riverdance 30 – The New Generation’, and in town at Toronto’s CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre for just a few nights, the evening was part of an anniversary tour of the much-loved Riverdance phenomenon. The stage show Riverdance first burst onto the scene in 1995 and has since been featured in some 15,000 performances in close to 50 countries, and viewed by some 30 million people.

At last night’s event, Tourism Ireland supplier partners including Air Canada, TTC Tour Brands, Collette, RIT, G Adventures and more, plus trade media and travel advisors, took in the show.

It was all part of Irish Heritage Month, and follows up on Tourism Ireland’s participation in the Ireland Funds Canada event last week.
