TORONTO — Members of Discover America Canada gathered in Toronto on March 25 for a sold-out 2025 Annual General Meeting, where discussions centred on challenges and opportunities in Canada-U.S. travel.
The gathering provided an opportunity to address current topics affecting the sector, including ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Canada–U.S. trade dispute and the Canadian dollar’s continued weakness against the U.S. greenback.
The AGM also featured Canadian Olympian Sophie Bukovec as keynote speaker. Bukovec, who competed in Paris 2024, shared her experiences navigating the Canadian, U.S. and international elite sports scenes, offering insights on resilience and the pursuit of goals against the odds. Her message resonated strongly with attendees, offering inspiration during a challenging time for the industry.
During the meeting, voting took place to elect the new Executive Board for the 2025–2026 term. The newly announced board includes:
