D.R.’s gala event launches new luxury destination campaign

MIAMI — With a strong offering of luxury tourism product already in the pipeline, the Dominican Republic is looking to raise its profile with high-end travellers even more with a new marketing campaign promoting the country’s luxury destinations.

The campaign was launched earlier this month at an exclusive gala at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami.

Hosted by Minister of Tourism David Collado, the event brought together dozens of North American, European and Latin American investors, executives from airlines, luxury hotel chains and more, from companies including Marriott International, AA, Expedia, Four Seasons, Grupo Punta Cana, Virtuoso, Rosewood Hotels, Grupo Piñero, IHG, Blue Diamond Resorts, Transat, Voyage Gendron, Voyage en Direct and more.

The D.R. was showcased as an idyllic Caribbean destination for luxury tourism. New conceptual identities were unveiled, promoting the country’s luxury destinations including Miches, Samaná and Costa del Ámbar.

“The Dominican Republic is experiencing a moment of solid economic growth, and we are ready to welcome investors looking for a vibrant destination with exceptional opportunities. This is the best time to invest in our country and take advantage of the dynamism of our tourism industry,” said Minister Collado.

Four Seasons is one of the latest luxury brands to announce it is entering the D.R.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences at Tropicalia, with a prime 60-acre beachfront location along Playa Esmeralda, is slated to open in 2026.

“The Dominican Republic has all the elements of a luxury destination and is perfect for a brand like Four Seasons,” said Alejandro Reynal, President and CEO, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
