CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — Duck, duck, loose! Photos of an emotional support duck boarding a plane have popped up on social media, with reports saying that it was a model passenger who liked to “look at the clouds.”
My seatmate, CLT➡️AVL, is this handsome duck named Daniel. His gentle quacking eases the sadness of leaving #SFA16. pic.twitter.com/iDKWCceAFi

Author Mark Essig sat directly behind Daniel the duck on a short flight from Charlotte, North Carolina to Asheville, and snapped several photos of the adorable passenger while he walked down the aisle and gazed out the window. According to Essig, Daniel’s flight attire included little red booties and a Captain America diaper.

“His human said he had several diapers, but always indicated (how I’m not sure) that he preferred to wear the Captain America one,” said Essig.
Essig learned that Daniel is four years old and was bought by his owner at a yard sale. He also said that his owner “kissed him on the beak several times” and held his beak gently when he quacked a lot during the flight.
Daniel, an Indian Runner duck who can’t fly, was snapped looking out the window, perhaps daydreaming of what it’d be like to take flight among the clouds. But for Daniel, a clunky airplane will have to do for now.
