JUNEAU — Small ship adventure travel company UnCruise Adventures is making its return to Costa Rica with an all-new 2026 itinerary.
The ‘Costa Rica’s Pure Life Adventure Cruise’ aboard the Safari Voyager marks the company’s first voyages to the region in recent years, with departures set to begin on Oct. 17, 2026.
Guests will begin their journey in Liberia, transferring to the Safari Voyager before setting sail for Murciélago Bay in Santa Rosa National Park – an area accessible only by boat, known for its pristine beaches and vibrant marine life. The voyage continues with a visit to Curú Wildlife Refuge, home to roaming monkeys, colourful bird species, and lush tropical flora.
Travellers will also paddle through the mangroves of Golfo Dulce – one of the world’s only tropical fjords – before arriving at the Osa Peninsula near Corcovado National Park, a biodiversity hotspot teeming with humpback whales, monkeys and exotic birdlife. The itinerary also includes a stop at Isla San Lucas National Park, formerly home to Costa Rica’s maximum-security prison, followed by a visit to the bustling port city of Puntarenas, where guests can immerse themselves in local culture. The adventure culminates in Santa Elena Bay, renowned for its white-sand beaches and diverse marine life, before returning to Liberia.
“Costa Rica has always held a special place in our brand’s history,” said Captain Dan Blanchard, Founder and CEO of UnCruise Adventures. “We’re excited to return with a new itinerary that embodies the true spirit of pura vida – combining immersive exploration, local heritage, and genuine connection to the natural wonders that make this destination so remarkable.”
Aboard the Safari Voyager, guests will enjoy well-appointed staterooms, regionally inspired cuisine and a relaxed onboard atmosphere. Each day’s itinerary is shaped by tides, weather and wildlife activity to create a truly immersive experience.
